Welcome to Puzzling Life!

Welcome to Puzzling Life! With this website, I hope to reach out to anyone who has lived with autism, whether you’re a parent, child or young adult. I also hope to reach out to anyone walking with faith in Christ, those who are lost and asking questions, or any LGBTQ who are struggling to find their place or have trouble finding faith.

My name is Johnny, and I was born and raised in Texas. I love playing video games (Mario is my all-time favorite), hanging out with friends, singing (mostly to Jesus) and writing (well duh, I’m starting a blog website). Some of my favorite TV shows are Glee, Once Upon A Time, The Flash and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. I like to listen to music, as well, mostly worship/Christian and background music from video games. I also like to read, but it’s mostly Scripture and fanfictions. What appeals to me about fanfictions is that they’re either fixes to the original stories, or alternate universes. It’s interesting to see what would’ve happened if things were different, and it’s nice to see certain characters get the happy endings (like Stephen King’s Carrie), or the comeuppance (like 13 Reasons Why’s Bryce Walker) they deserve. I’ll admit, I don’t read Scripture as much as I should. It’s a work-in-progress.

I was diagnosed with autism when I was six, more specifically PDD-NOS (pervasive developmental disorder not otherwise specified). I struggled quite a lot in school, and with making friends, but I’ve definitely gotten better with those things over time. You’ll hear more about those experiences in my posts.

I’ve been a follower of Jesus Christ for almost seven years. I’ll elaborate more on that on Saturday, since it’ll be exactly seven years, but I’ll tell you now that with Jesus, everything gets better.

This next part may seem a bit oxymoron-ish, but I am believer who happens to be gay. I guess another term is a gay Christian.

Yes, you read that correctly. Try reading it again if you’re still not sure.

A little over a month ago, I came out on Facebook to everyone I have (and a few I had) on there as a friend. I was tired of living with the anxiety of people not knowing, and I felt like I had to set myself free from it. There’s still some people I haven’t heard from in regard to my post, but overall, I’ve felt much lighter since then.

I’m honestly not sure what to expect from this. In fact, I’m not really sure what to expect from a lot of things. But no matter what, I am expectant that God will make everything work for the greatest good, and I’m very excited to see what He has in store through this website.

That’s all from me, for now. I’ll see y’all again on Saturday!

Johnny
